At Kunst-Station Sankt Peter in Cologne, I photographed BrUCH, an ensemble dedicated to music of the 20th and 21st centuries. With Ella Rohwer (cello), Sally Beck (flute), Marie Heeschen (soprano) and Claudia Chan (piano), the session moved somewhere between ensemble portrait, fashion editorial and the charged atmosphere of the church itself.<\/p>\n

Instead of illustrating instruments or performance, we worked with posture, presence, light and the architecture of the space. The result is a series of individual portraits and group images that reflects both the precision of contemporary music and the distinct personalities behind it.
