Nature creates the most beautiful shapes. Pyrite, also known as sulfur pyrite or iron pyrite as well as fool\u2019s gold, is a very common mineral from the class of \u201csulfides and sulfosalts\u201d.
\nPyrite develops predominantly idiomorphic crystals in the form of cubes or pentagon dodecahedra. Octahedra and disdodecahedra are also common, as are combinations between these shapes.<\/p>\n

With a Mohs hardness of 6 to 6.5 pyrite belongs to the hard minerals, quite tough guys.
