Leica Workshop about light & still life

Teaching & Speaking

Photography is not only about technique. It is about learning to see, making deliberate choices and developing a visual language of your own. Alongside my work as a photographer and creative director, I teach, speak and exchange ideas about images and the thinking behind them.

I led the inaugural Porsche Photography Masterclass in Malaysia, give workshops and lectures for Leica Camera, have joined panels at OMR and spoken at BFF events, and teach photography at ecosign Academy in Cologne.

Formats

Lectures · Workshops · Masterclasses · University Teaching · Portfolio Reviews · Panels & Conversations

Formats can be adapted to different audiences, experience levels and occasions—from a focused lecture or panel contribution to an intensive multi-day masterclass.

Good to know

Do I need to be a professional photographer?

Not at all. Workshops can be adapted to different levels of experience—from curious beginners and ambitious amateurs to professionals looking for a fresh perspective. What matters most is curiosity and a willingness to explore.

What kind of camera do I need?

The brand or model is not important. Bring a camera you feel reasonably comfortable with; even a simple setup can be enough to work seriously with light, composition and visual ideas. If a workshop requires any particular equipment, you will know beforehand.

What do we actually work on?

That depends on the format and the participants. Possible subjects include seeing and composing, working with available or artificial light, developing a visual language, editing a series and turning an initial idea into a coherent body of work.

Can a workshop be tailored to a team or institution?

Yes. Content, duration and level can be adapted for universities, companies, creative teams, festivals or smaller private groups. A workshop may be practical, conversational or a combination of both.

Where—and in which language—do you teach?

I teach in German and English, in Cologne and internationally. Workshops, lectures and portfolio reviews can take place on location; selected formats are also possible online.

Let’s Talk

If you are planning a lecture, workshop, masterclass or panel and think my perspective could add something useful, let’s talk. I work in German and English—in Cologne and wherever the conversation takes us.
